Garnet Dusk (2017)

Garnet Dusk is an album of migration and maturity. It involves the abundance of reflective thoughts created by impermeable, unavoidable situations that life serves or doesn’t serve you on a silver platter. “Garnet Dusk” blends the ocean sound with a woman’s departure. It tries to catch a special encounter like ships that pass slowly in the blue enamel evening. The mysticism of rediscovered love and affection. The truth in the children’s eyes and the parents’ lack of consideration. “Garnet Dusk” is a fire in the sky that lasts very few seconds but concentrates the essence of intuitions, the carpe diem. Then comes the night with its glorious shades and blinding lights, A reel for the poets, a tryst for the unsatisfied.

Singer-songwriter Claudio Conti balances his impressions and his artistic/stylistic choices twisting and turning between Italy and the United States. Even though he displays a certain influence of Italian and British musicians, most of his repertoire and colorful sound is given by the West Coast.

Undoubtedly encouraged by the souls of Gram Parsons, Gene Clark, Tim Hardin, Tim Buckley, John Phillips, Sam Cooke, Love and The Doors he considers both L.A. and San Francisco his multilateral Mecca. Psychedelia and folk rock try to embrace hues of jazz and rock in a non-imposed, biological journey that after “Saltworks” will allow “Garnet Dusk” to see the light next November, both published by Seahorse Recordings.
